Position: Electrical Designer

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Overview: You will be actively working towards developing project drawings and specifications suitable for public tender in a fast-paced and collaborative atmosphere, and ultimately become an intricate component of our team-focused environment.

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations including:
    • Electrical service size calculations,
    • Detailed load calculations for new build and renovation project,
  • Prepare engineering drawings and schematics through various project phases, with the use of AutoCAD and Revit software packages.
    • Electrical design of building systems, including lighting, power distribution, life safety, standby power, fire alarm, electronic safety and security and communication systems
    • Develop preliminary drawings to convey design intent with direction from the project manager or lead design engineer,
    • Develop construction drawings suitable for public tender with direction from the project manager or lead design engineer,
    • Support the development of construction details.
  • Support the project manager or lead design engineer in the development of project specifications.
  • Participate in site investigations with the lead design engineer.
  • Work with the project team and project manager to ensure timely delivery of project submissions, while maintaining the project schedule.
  • Helping to establish, maintain and promote client relationships.

Education Requirements:

  • Registered (or working towards registration) as a Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word.

Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software,
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • Excellent time management skills,
  • Experience working in a team-based environment,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with MEP toolset for AutoCAD software,
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit.
